Your Business Matters Here
Existing businesses are the foundation of Huron County's economy. Whether you're planning an expansion, facing a challenge, exploring a new opportunity, or simply want to make sure local and state leaders understand what's happening in your industry, we want to hear from you.
Through our Business Retention & Expansion (BRE) efforts, Huron County EDC meets directly with local employers to understand what's working, identify challenges, connect businesses with resources, and help create the conditions for long-term growth.
A Conversation, Not a Program
A Business Retention & Expansion (BRE) visit is simply a conversation about your business.
We want to understand where your company is today, where you're headed, and what may be getting in the way. Conversations may include workforce needs, expansion plans, infrastructure, financing, regulations, supply chain challenges, or other issues affecting your ability to operate and grow.
These conversations are confidential. When an opportunity or challenge requires additional expertise, we'll work with you to identify the right local, regional, state, or federal partners to bring into the conversation.
How Can We Help?
Planning an Expansion
Considering additional space, equipment, employees, or investment? We can help coordinate resources related to sites, infrastructure, financing, incentives, and state support.
Solving Business Challenges
Sometimes the issue doesn’t fit neatly into a program. Infrastructure, permitting, utilities, supply chain concerns, or another barrier may require several organizations working together. Tell us what’s getting in the way.
Workforce & Talent
Hiring and retaining employees continues to be one of the most significant challenges facing employers. We can connect you with workforce partners and help identify resources that may support your needs.
Connecting You with Resources
HCEDC works with MEDC and other local, regional, state, and federal partners to connect businesses with specialized resources from financing and incentives to export assistance, supply chain connections, and other technical expertise.
Our role is to help get the right people around the table.
Why do we ask employers to spend time talking to the EDC?
Your perspective helps shape our work.
BRE conversations don't just help us respond to individual business needs. They help us understand the broader issues affecting Huron County's economy.
What we learn from local employers helps inform our work on workforce, housing, infrastructure, site readiness, talent attraction, and other economic development priorities. It also helps us communicate local business needs to state and regional partners.
You don't need to be planning an expansion or facing a problem to schedule a visit.
Some of our most valuable conversations are simply opportunities to learn more about a local company, understand where it's headed, and build a relationship before assistance is ever needed.
