Sandusky Demolition Projects Complete

Thanks to funding from the Blight Elimination Program, and in partnership with the Sanilac County Land Bank Authority and Bolle Contracting, the two formerly vacant and deteriorated properties have been safely removed. These sites will now be transformed into expanded public parking, improving accessibility and supporting continued growth for Sandusky’s downtown district.

Request for Proposals: Hazardous Materials Testing

The Sanilac County Land Bank Authority is seeking proposals for hazardous materials surveys including lead, mold, radon, and asbestos on one residential property. The Sanilac County Land Bank Authority Blight Elimination Program is administered by the Economic Development Corporation of the County of Huron in partnership with the County of Sanilac. The property requiring hazardous materials testing is owned by the City of Brown City. This RFP is open to all qualified environmental contractors who are capable and qualified to meet the objectives and requirements described in this document. Respondents must supply documentation supporting their qualifications for evaluation.

Property Demolitions Underway in Sandusky

Demolition efforts are officially underway in Sandusky this month as part of the ongoing work funded by the Blight Elimination Program grant awarded to the Sanilac County Land Bank Authority in 2023. Residents may have already noticed activity at the two Morse Street properties—24 S Morse Street and 36 S Morse Street—as Bolle Contracting begins the process of demolishing the properties and clearing the sites.
