Sandusky Demolition Projects Complete
We’re excited to share that the Sanilac County Land Bank Authority’s demolition project at 24 and 36 S Morse Street in downtown Sandusky has officially been completed! It was our privilege to partner with the Land Bank to accomplish this blight removal project.
Thanks to funding from the State Land Bank Authority’s Blight Elimination Program, the two formerly vacant and deteriorated properties have been safely removed. These sites, owned by the City of Sandusky, will now be transformed into expanded public parking, improving accessibility and supporting continued growth for Sandusky’s downtown district.
This marks a significant milestone in our efforts to reduce blight and reinvest in our communities. The newly cleared lots will not only enhance the look and feel of the area but will also provide practical benefits to local residents, visitors, and businesses alike.
While the Sandusky sites are finished, work continues in Applegate and Lexington. Both communities are also slated for blighted residential demolitions under this grant, with plans to remove the identified structures and eventually make those parcels available for future development.
In Brown City, rehabilitation of the designated property is still in the planning stages, and we look forward to sharing more updates on that exciting transformation soon.
We’re proud of the progress made through this initiative and are grateful for the community’s support throughout the process. These efforts are part of a broader mission to create safer, more vibrant neighborhoods across Sanilac County.
