Huron County Comeback Internship Program Employer Interest Questionnaire 2027
Thank you for your interest in the Huron County Comeback Internship Program, a partnership of the Huron County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) and the Huron County Community Foundation (HCCF).
The Comeback Program creates new paid internship opportunities that connect Huron County students with local employers and introduce them to the career opportunities available in their home community. Participating employers have an opportunity to build relationships with emerging talent while providing students with meaningful, career-connected work experience.
Comeback internships are intended to create additional internship capacity in Huron County. Program funding may be used to establish a new internship position or add an internship opportunity beyond an employer’s existing summer plans. It is not intended to subsidize an existing internship position or replace an intern the employer already intended to hire.
Comeback internships are also placements, not competitive job openings. HCCF and the EDC will identify potential student-employer matches based on students’ interests, skills and career goals, and the experiences employers can provide. Employers retain final approval of any proposed placement.
Participating employers must:
Have at least one full-time employee within the organization.
Create a new internship opportunity or add an internship position beyond what the organization would otherwise offer. Comeback funding may not be use to subsidize an existing internship position or replace an intern the employer already planned to hire
Provide the intern with meaningful, career-connected work, projects and learning opportunities, rather than using the position primarily to fill a seasonal or general staffing need.
Identify an employee who will provide consistent supervision, mentorship, and feedback throughout the internship.
Meet the program’s wage, schedule and employer cost-share requirements.
Understand that Comeback internships are placements, not competitive job openings. HCCF and the EDC will propose potential student-employer matches based on student interests, skills and career goals. Employers retain final approval of a proposed placement, but the Comeback-funded position should not require the student to compete
Completing this questionnaire indicates your interest in participating and helps the EDC identify potential matches. Submission does not guarantee an intern placement. Placements depend on student interests, employer eligibility, program capacity and available funding.
