2026 Small Business Grant
Small businesses across Michigan’s Thumb and surrounding region have a new opportunity to invest in their growth. The 2026 Small Business Grant Award Program will provide grants of up to $20,000 to eligible small businesses to support expansion, workforce development, and operational improvements.
Who Is Eligible?
To qualify, businesses must have 500 or fewer employees and be located in, or owned by a resident of, Shiawassee, Lapeer, Tuscola, Huron, Sanilac, or St. Clair County.
How Funds Can Be Used?
Grant funds may be used for the following:
Equipment, inventory, software, furniture, fixtures, or hardware
Employee training that leads to an industry-recognized certification, including related travel costs
