Eagle Bay

A great place to launch your kayak to see Turnip Rock

Eagle Bay is a public access site maintained by the Michigan DNR with the feel of a quaint park, just about one mile west of Grindstone City along Lake Huron in Huron County. Eagle Bay is an ideal place to launch your kayak to view Turnip Rock or enjoy the lake away from big crowds.

Launch your kayak, stick your toes in the sand, watch the waves and look to spot a variety of different kinds of birds and waterfowl, there is much to enjoy at this quaint spot off the beaten path.

Facilities

Eagle Bay is recognized as a part of the Tip of the Thumb Heritage Water Trail. The route is about 2.5 miles shorter than from Port Austin. The site has trash receptacles, as well as a restroom with a pit toilet.

The Launch is maintained by the State of Michigan DNR so a Recreation Passport is required.
