The Huron County Economic Development Corporation’s Michigan’s Forgotten Coast Talent Attraction Campaign has been recognized with a Gold Award for Excellence in Economic Development from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC).

Applications will be accepted through November 23, 2026. Businesses selected for the program will be announced in mid-December 2026, with the inaugural cohort scheduled to begin on January 5, 2027.

For many working parents, access to affordable, reliable child care can make a significant difference in their ability to enter the workforce, remain employed, and pursue career opportunities. At the same time, employers across Michigan are looking for new ways to attract and retain employees in a competitive labor market.

MI Tri-Share Child Care Program (MI Tri-Share) offers employers an opportunity to address both challenges by helping make child care more affordable for their employees.

This program is designed to connect Huron County students with paid, personalized internship opportunities at local businesses during the summer and create pathways to retaining our homegrown talent.

We’re looking to gather perspectives and ideas relating to housing availability, affordability, housing conditions, barriers to residential development in Huron County, and discuss opportunities for growth to help guide future housing strategies.

Redeveloping a brownfield property doesn’t happen overnight. It takes planning, environmental investigation, cleanup, and investment, but the result can be a property that once again contributes to the community.
