Fishing & Marinas - Where on the lake?
Bay Port |
Features a protected harbor for fishing with Sand Point stretching out several miles into Saginaw Bay to North Island off the mainland and the islands offer excellent bass fishing, and the reefs of the islands offer excellent walleye fishing. Perch fishing is very good in the spring off the cuts and shallows along the shoreline. The public access site in Bay Port offeres fisherman access to deeper water. Lodging sites and restaurants are available in the area. During the fall months the Bay Port area is an excellent "jump off" V sport, in proximity to wild fow. |

Caseville |
Often called the Perch Capital of Michigan, its inner bay contains 300,000 shallow sandy acres. The Outer Bay, however, with depths to 90 feet and countless reefs, offers excellent walleye, salmon, and lake trout fishing. The Charity Islands located in the Outer Bay have a reputation of producing limit catches from the surrounding deep water reefs. Caseville offers excellent boating facilities. Charter boats and rentals are available as well as accommodations. |

Grindstone City |
Grindstone is home to many of the serious charter boat captains and fishing enthusiasts. Salmon, lake trou t and brown trout, steelhead, walleye, yellow perch and small mouth bass offer a variety of fishing opportunities. Eagle Bay is a favorite spot for smallmouth bass. Conveniently close camping and accommodations are available. |

Harbor Beach |
With the world“s greatest freshwater harbor, this port offers some of the best salmon fishing in Lake Huron. Yellow perch, walleye, brown trout and steelhead are also caught. The City offers both a private launch and large municipal full service marina. |

Port Austin |
Located at the tip of the thumb, this port offers outstanding fishing for salmon, lake trout, walleye, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, brown trout, and steel head. Port Austin offers a variety of charter boat options. Port Austin is rated number one in all of Michigan by the DNR, for the highest catch rate of trout and salmon per charter trip than anywhere else in Michigan. |

Sebewaing |
The river running through this town and into the bay offers excellent fishing for perch and bass. The weedbed areas out in the bay offer a wide variety of game fish and the walleye fishing has become fantastic. From Sebewaing north, past Bay Port to Wild Fowl Bay, there are several islands where fishing in isolated coves can be quite productive for a wide variety of fish. |
