Caseville Nature Trails

Located 5 miles West of Caseville, this park has more than 4 miles of maintained trails available to those who wish to hike or ski. These trails pass through a variety of habitats, and are directly accessible from the campground. Trails are groomed in the winter if there is sufficient snow. Those using the trails also have access to 2,200 acres of the Rush Lake State Game Area, an area of forests and wetlands populated by many types of wildlife. |

The 139 acre Sand Point Nature Preserve is open for hiking from dawn to dusk year round. The preserve is located 4 miles southwest of Caseville on the bay side of M-25. The parking area is located halfway between Dunn and Crescent Beach Road. As of yet, there is no sign marking the driveway entrance. |
Harbor Beach Nature Trails

This park is located 5 miles South of Harbor Beach. This park comprises of 132 acres, with modern, tent camping and camper cabins available, featuring nature trails throughout the park. Open to the public, from May 1st to October 15th. |
Port Austin Nature Trails

The Huron County Nature Center-Wilderness Arboretum was founded in 1990. The Huron County Board of Commissioners established a 280 acre nature center in Hume Township on property owned by the County since 1941. This tract, includes the 120 acre wilderness arboretum, that has been under the care of the Huron County Women's Clubs for more than 50 years.
A Wilderness Arboretum is a place where plants, birds, insects, mammals, fungi-all things living or dead-are protected for scientific and educational purposes and for preservation of natural conditions. This tract of alternating sand ridges and shallow swales is a haven for nature lovers and environmentalists. Enjoy a refreshing walk along one of the well kept trails in the nature center.
Located in Michigan's Thumb, 9 miles East of Caseville or 9 miles West of Port Austin just off of M-25, turn South on Oak Beach Rd. to Loosemore Rd. East to the Nature Center entrance. 14 miles Northwest of Bad Axe.

Located 5 miles Southwest of Port Austin on M-25. Our trail system totals almost 6 miles of varied terrain; 2 ½ miles for hiking or cross country skiing, accessible from the campground or across a steel bridge near the organization area. There are 3 ½ Miles of wood-chipped trails traversing the Day Use area where hikers, joggers, skiers, hunters all enjoy the great outdoors. |

The Sanilac Petroglyphs historic site is located near Bad Axe. Take M-53 to Bay City-Forestville Road and proceed east to Germania Road. Head south one-half mile on Germania; the site is on the west side of the road. View rock carvings from the native americans and walk the 1 mile nature trail. Open Wed. - Sun 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. June 2 to Labor Day. |
